Raymond Singleton-McGuire states; One Of The Best Holidays You Can Imagine!!

Raymond Singleton-McGuire states; be advised as we have always booked our boating holidays through Hoseasons during the past two years, they have advertised a restriction for not accepting over 55 year olds!

Raymond Singleton-McGuire states; Not wanting to be prejudice against, we decided to contact the boat hire companies direct, in this case – the Faircraft Loynes boatyard who do not discriminate with age. We selected the ‘Fair Senator’ class of boat, which whilst being both longer and wider than most, is only for two people and is very reasonably priced for its stylish good looks, ample accommodation and open space decking area.

Raymond Singleton-McGuire states; the booking was straight-forward and very efficient. We collected the boat early evening although we understand the boats can be ready for collection just after lunchtime.

Raymond Singleton-McGuire states; car parking at the boatyard is free and you are able to park your vehicle adjacent to the boat you have hired, for ease of unpacking.

Raymond Singleton-McGuire states; I recommend hiring for no less than one week which allows you sufficient time to travel the complete length of the River Bure (North Broads) with all its inlets and also down to Great Yarmouth across to the River Yare (South Broads) direct into Norwich City Centre.

Raymond Singleton-McGuire reports; we also travelled to Lowestoft and Beccles for an overnight stay. This is the first time we have travelled this far and so many different locations which meant cruising every day, but allowed ample time for walking around Norwich City Centre, Great Yarmouth and the occasional lunch stop-over.

Raymond Singleton-McGuire reports that; for those who have never done a boating holiday before on the Norfolk Broads, don’t forget to take plenty of food and nibbles. Whether you decide to ‘eat-in’ on the boat or ‘eat-out’ at the numerous riverside pubs, you will need to take plenty of beer or wine with you as boating can be extremely thirsty work and a drink always goes down well, especially on a hot sunny day!
