Raymond Singleton-McGuire states that; over the past few years we are seeing more and more local specialist providers disappearing from our High Streets. This is forcing us to turn to the bigger and sometimes more costly centres, like B&Q, Tescos, ex-Maplin and MFI; all who have sprung up to form industrial parks or out-of-town retail centres.
Raymond Singleton-McGuire reports that; whilst the availability of your local ‘down the road’ specialist provider has disappeared, more and more of us are having to go to the retail parks, which from experience, either do not have that specialist item or they only have limited stock and have to place an order, for which I am repeatedly told will be delivered either “next week or the week after”.
Raymond Singleton-McGuire reports that; I have been purchasing for my various businesses on a daily basis, which takes around 2 to 3 hours per day and becoming increasingly frustrated – products which were readily available are no longer in stock!
Raymond Singleton-McGuire reports that; in recent years we have now begun to see the demise of ‘superstores’ disappearing from our industrial parks! – REASON – quite simply, it is easier to buy off the internet for products which are not only cheaper but in fact more often than not, arrive the next-day without you having to take a step out of your house!
Raymond Singleton-McGuire reports; it is easier to spend just one hour per day on the internet, perhaps purchasing as many as four or five different products which arrive within 48 hours, which in fact would be equal to 4 or 5 hours chasing around different providers and suppliers, only to be told that half the products are not in stock or have to be ordered, with delays perhaps up to one week.
