Raymond Singleton-McGuire reports on; OLD TOWN, Klaipeda, Lithuania

Raymond Singleton-McGuire states; A Labrynth of Quaint Cobbled Streets!!!

Raymond Singleton-McGuire reports; without doubt, very intriguing and full of little surprises!

Raymond Singleton-McGuire reports; this is our second visit to Klaipeda having explored the Old Town on a number of separate occasions, yet on our last visit we still managed to discover intriguing little passageways littered with craft shops which we failed to seek out on our previous visit.

Raymond Singleton-McGuire states; the Old Town is well worth a visit and I can highly recommend the Friedrich Passageway, which is full of bars and eating houses especially if you are looking for something alfresco.

Raymond Singleton-McGuire reports on the; IRISH NESE PUB, Klaipeda, Lithuania

Raymond Singleton-McGuire states; A Welcome Return!!!!

Raymond Singleton-McGuire states that; been here before on more than one occasion and cannot complain!

Raymond Singleton-McGuire states; it is a multi-complex venue with the Irish Nese Pub at street level which also contains tv screens for sports nights and is joined by a separate entrance to the Casino Bar & Restaurant which can also be accessed separately from outside.

Raymond Singleton-McGuire states; both venues provide food and there is also a separate whisky bar before entering the casino itself.

To all visiting Klaipeda this is a worthy stop-off.

Raymond Singleton-McGuire reports on; FRIEDRICH PASSAGE, Klaipeda, Lithuania

Raymond Singleton-McGuire reports on; Klaipeda’s Old Town ‘Narnia’!!!!

Raymond Singleton-McGuire states; an unexpected and delightful passageway hidden away in the Old Town.  Full of bars, restaurants, wine bars and steakhouses with adjoining hotel accommodation.

Raymond Singleton-McGuire claims; the Old Town is a maze of small hidden away little streets best described as a labyrinth but I think you will find the ‘Friedrich Passage’ perhaps the best for socialising, as it appears to be the place to be seen, even if you just want to sit outside alfresco style for a quick coffee or a lazy glass of wine!

Raymond Singleton-McGuire states; to all visitors, the steakhouse restaurant, which is at one end of the passageway, is well worth a visit and is already on our list when we return.

Raymond Singleton-McGuire reports on; MEAT LOVERS, Klaipeda, Lithuania

Raymond Singleton-McGuire states; Undoubtedly Tasty Food!!!!

Raymond Singleton-McGuire states; my second visit to the Baltic this year and could not leave Klaipeda without another visit to ‘Meat Lovers’ next to the city ferry terminal on the waterfront. An excellent location to chill-out over a couple of beers and tasty burgers.

Raymond Singleton-McGuire states; to all visiting this part of Lithuania, I promise you will not be disappointed with this venue. The prices are reasonable (and not inflated!) and the drinks are reasonably priced.

Raymond Singleton-McGuire reports on CILI PICA, Lieupu G. No.2 Klaipeda, 92114, Lithuania

Raymond Singleton-McGuire states; Where Do I Start?!! Not Recommendable!!

Raymond Singleton-McGuire states; from our experience, we are unable to give this place a good recommendation.
Raymond Singleton-McGuire states; disappointingly, we chose the wrong evening when a basketball match was being broadcast on their TV screens (surely, this should have rang alarm bells!). After spending almost 10 minutes trying to select a table in order to get away from the pounding volume of the basketball game, we discovered that there were speakers in every part of the restaurant, which made it uncomfortable to have a normal conversation, quite simply the volume was too overpowering.

Raymond Singleton-McGuire states; realising we had made a mistake in the choice of our venue, we were pushed for time and decided to persevere ordering simple pizzas to avoid any further delays only to be told that there would be a wait of at least a half an hour!

Raymond Singleton-McGuire stated; whilst now faced with a dilemma of trying to find an alternative venue or persevere! Again we got it wrong! The pizzas were like something we had never tasted before. The base of the pizza was nothing to write home about; dry and very hard to cut. There was a lack of tomato sauce and the toppings did not excite your taste buds. The décor, seating and tables are very basic.

Raymond Singleton-McGuire sends message to all; I desperately recommend that you avoid this place like the plague and save your money for another venue.
