Raymond Singleton-McGuire reports on Sunday Lunch at THE RED LION, BICKER, BOSTON

Excellent Food!!!

Raymond Singleton-McGuire states that since we have begun looking for new Sunday lunch ventures, Sunday Lunch at The Red Lion, Bicker seemed an ideal alternative as they offer a late 4.00pm sitting, rather than the normal last orders at 2.00/2.30pm you find at other establishments.

Raymond Singleton-McGuire states he was truly impressed by comparison to his last visit, (although it be some 20 years ago!) however, he found his dining table placed in extremely close proximity to others and unfortunately, whilst being circular was extremely limiting when ordering a bottle of wine, plus a bottle of water, together with the glasses, which created a space issue on his table. He asked to be moved to a larger vacant table opposite which was positioned comfortably away from other nearby tables, disappointingly, his request was declined!

Raymond Singleton-McGuire states he subsequently ended up almost shoulder-to-shoulder with the occupants of the adjoining table, which incidentally he had to initially move to allow them to be seated. Unfortunately, the close proximity made it unpleasant when he couldn’t help but overhear the occupants of the adjoining table began expressing their strong views and opinions.

Raymond Singleton-McGuire reports; the food was of exceptional quality compared to other establishments serving Sunday carveries, but unfortunately, in his particular case, it was disappointing that he endured a discouraging conversation during his meal from a closer than acceptable neighbouring table, which quite obviously cannot be entirely blamed on the management. However, he does in fact criticise the management for placing tables inconveniently too close together and the very fact that they do not take into consideration their customers’ requirements or comfort (and surrounding space).
